Triple Decker Falls

The Experience

Triple Decker Falls is a series of three cascading waterfalls on Candle Creek, offering a striking tiered effect that is perfect for photography and nature observation. This trail starts outside of the park and is surrounded by an open forest. As you descend to the falls, tranquil pools, and moss covered rocks create a peaceful (but slippery!) scenic environment. The hike to the falls is relatively short, making it accessible for most visitors who want to experience multiple waterfalls in one stop. For a longer hike, visitors can continue along this trail, see one more waterfall, and then eventually hit a trail along the Clearwater River that ends back in the town of Clearwater. This is a perfect to do with a ride arranged at the other end of the trail.

Approx. 15-20 minutes from parking

A trail leads you to the base of this waterfall. The trail is well maintained, and is relatively short, but it is a lot of elevation gain in a short trail. The trail has switchbacks.

Accessibility

The trail includes uneven terrain, rocks, and steep inclines. It is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and stay on the designated path to protect the delicate forest and creek environment. Watch for loose rocks on the steep sections of the trail. Hiking poles are helpful.

Dogs are permitted on the trail but they must be kept on leash. Be mindful of wildlife, and please clean up after your pet to preserve the trail for everyone.
