Spahats Falls

The Experience

Spahats Falls is one of Wells Gray Park’s most iconic waterfalls, plunging 74 m into a deep canyon carved by the erosive waters from melting glaciers . A short, easy walk from the viewpoint offers stunning photo opportunities and dramatic views of the canyon below as the waters rush to join the Clearwater River. The surrounding forest provides shade, making it a perfect spot for a quick stop or picnic.

Accessibility

Spahats Falls is a hard packed gravel trail and the trail and viewpoint are wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Facilities

The viewpoint has a paved parking area, washrooms, picnic tables, and a short walk to the platform.

Geology

The canyon is carved through stacked lava flows, revealing the Park’s volcanic history in its sheer, layered walls.

Pets

Dogs are permitted on the trail but they must be kept on leash. Be mindful of wildlife, and please clean up after your pet to preserve the trail for everyone.

Directions

Spahats Falls is approximately 10km up the Wells Gray Park Corridor Road (Clearwater Valley Rd). The road is paved and accessible for all vehicles.
