Moul Falls is a spectacular 35 m waterfall on Grouse Creek, renowned for the unique opportunity to walk behind the cascading water. The falls are nestled in a mossy, old-growth forest, creating a magical, photogenic setting. In summer, the surrounding creek pools are perfect for wading, while in winter, ice formations make the falls particularly striking. The hike to the falls is about 2.5 km one-way, and though there is a steeper section at the end of the trail if you want to go to the base of the waterfall, it is a moderately easy walk with beautiful forest scenery and plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife.
Parking & Access
Parking is available at the trailhead off Wells Gray Park Road. The first part of the trail goes through a managed woodlot. The trail is well-marked and maintained. When you reach the park boundary, the trail will break left and you will have a gradual descent to the base of the falls. Be aware that some sections can be muddy or slippery after rain.
Pets
Dogs are permitted on leash. Make sure to bring water for your pet, supervise them closely near slippery rocks and the creek, and clean up after them to maintain the trail and natural environment.
Accessibility
The trail includes uneven terrain, tree roots, and sometimes a tree across the trail. There is a viewpoint at the top of the falls, but there is a steeper descent to the falls’ base, so it is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and stay on the designated trail to protect the forest and mossy areas.
