The Hike
Moul Falls is one of the most popular hikes in Wells Gray Park, offering a rewarding mix of forest walking, canyon scenery, and one of the few waterfalls in the park that you can approach from below. The trail is well‑loved for its variety: gentle sections through mixed forest, a narrowing canyon as you approach the falls, and a final descent that brings you right to the base of the cascade.
In summer, visitors can walk behind the falls and feel the spray.
The trail begins with an easy walk through forest before gradually descending toward the Clearwater River canyon. The final section includes a steep staircase and uneven terrain near the falls — take your time, especially when the rocks are wet.
Pets
Dogs are permitted on the trail but they must be kept on leash. Bring water for your pet, be mindful of wildlife, and please clean up after your pet to preserve the trail for everyone.
How to Get There
Moul Falls is located along the Wells Gray Corridor, about 30 minutes north of Clearwater. From town, follow the Clearwater Valley Road (also called Wells Gray Park Road) toward Helmcken Falls. Watch for the signed turnoff to the Moul Falls on your left side.
